Show me the one, show me the way, help me to know just how to share the love You gave.

Look around you! There is probably someone who could use some love! All too often, we find ourselves surrounded by people who are going through some difficult times. Perhaps you are! Whether it's unemployment, family problems, health problems, depression, loneliness, or whatever, all of us would like some relief from what we are going through. We need to see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

And there is! The Light of Lights, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, is willing and more than able to lift us from our darkness, into His pure and safe haven of light. He promises His love and presence to heal and deliver, to strengthen and help, all those who call on Him.

Like the beam from the mighty lighthouse, that directs ships safely back to harbor, His Light is there to show us the way to Him, for Jesus is truly the Way, the Truth and the Life.

It is my prayer that this site encourages you to reflect His light to those around you who need to know Him. Let Him use you to share His love. And as you embark on this remarkable journey, please share your experiences so that all of us can grow together in our quest to reach all the world, lest anyone should perish.

May God richly bless you!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

Could The Boston Story Happen To You?

Today a horrific terroristic attack occured at the final stretch of the Boston Marathon, killing two people and injuring many others. Two bombs exploded within seconds of each other, sending shards of ball bearings every which way, ripping flesh and destroying lives. This has become another one of those unforgetable events that we dread here in America. Like 911. Like Columbine. Like....

What if this occurred where you happened to be? Would you be prepared? How on earth can anyone prepare for something like this? And why would you have to? You, like me, just want to be left alone to live the American dream, the good life. To do what we want to do. Not to have it interrupted like this. Maybe the American dream is not so good after all...

Jesus tells us in John 16: 33 "I have told you...in this world you will have trouble." Ever since Adam and Eve committed the first sin of disobedience, mankind has been drowning in sin. At one point God became so angry with the massive sin that people were living, that he allowed a flood to completely cover our whole planet, destroying everyone. But he saved Noah and his family because they were living righteous lives. The Bible also tells us that in the last days, it will be again like the days of Noah, where people will choose to disobey God. Evil, hatred and all the ways of Satan have become rampant, and more terroristic activity will inevitably continue.

What are we to do? We can't avoid it, that's for sure. But we can prepare for it...

While Jesus told His disciples that in this world there will be trouble, He also declared that He has overcome the world. He came to bear our sins on the cross, shedding His innocent blood so He could redeem us and give us the free gift of everlasting life! He has won the victory over sin and death. Satan knows his demise is just on the horizon, when he will be cast in the everlasting lake of fire. In these last days, he will be working overtime with fury to destroy people. But those who believe that Jesus is the Savior will be saved. Those who make the most important decision of their lives, to make Jesus the Lord of their lives, will live on. Even if they lose their lives here on earth, their spirits will continue on, in the presence of our Glorious Lord!

Jesus promises us that He will never leave us or forsake us. He never abandons those He loves. And He sends His angels to help us in our times of need. He is our shepherd, who leads us, and He hears us when we call. Each and every time.

And everyone who calls on the
name of the Lord will be saved.
       -  Acts 2:21

No one is ever assured of tomorrow! All we ever have is today. So, what are we to do? Call on Jesus. Make sure He is the Lord of your life. Then, no matter what happens in the future, you will know of your destiny.

A Beautiful Marriage

It's been two weeks since my father-in-law passed away. He lived to be 98 years old, and left behind his 91 year old wife of 73 years. She is having a difficult time coping with widowhood, and even though her two sons are doing the best they can to meet her needs, she still misses her husband. She calls every evening and we chat. We live two hours from her so it is difficult to be able to help her deal with her grief. She is also developing dimentia, so everyday duties are becoming much more challenging for her. Fortunately, we found some ladies who visit her everyday, and help her.

Where did the years go? They built their lives together on love. She was 18 years old when they married. They produced a daughter and two sons, and they watched them grow up and have families of their own. They had joys and grief. They watched the world change right before their eyes. They lived frugally, being children of the Great Depression, yet they were generous, especially with the bountiful vegetables they grew in their garden. Anyone who visited always left with a bag of vegetables. Divorce was never an option. Through the years, they learned how to live with each other, how to tolerate each other, and found themselves being molded into one couple. Not two people, but one couple. They found themselves being dependent on each other, making them complete. What one lacked, the other fulfilled. A beautiful couple.

His passing reminded me that someday my husband and I will have to part at death, leaving the other one behind. Are we making the best of the time we have together? Or are we taking these years for granted? We have had our ups and downs, our joy and grief. And through it all, we have learned to depend on each other too. We are no longer individuals, but one couple. The way God intended.

It is sad to see marriage redefined in today's culture. The Bible clearly says that marriage is between one man and one woman. Genesis 2:24 tells us "A man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." A man and a woman were created with different qualities, in our bodies and our minds, to compliment each other, to meet each other's needs, and to create children. God designed us to become bonded to each other. No longer separate, but together. One unit, not to be broken. The enemy, Satan, seeks to destroy what God has created, and he deceives people into believing lies. This has become a real issue in our society today; so much so, that separation has spawned even in families and churches. This is not God's plan for us!

If you truly want a blessed life, you must follow God's plan for your life. You must obey what the Bible teaches, and honor marriage the way God intended it to be. By doing so, you will find yourself at the end of your life, having known true love and companionship, through the ups and downs, through the joy and grief. A beautiful marriage is a beautiful life!
